We found 10 small indulgences that homebodies are guaranteed to love

Home, sweet home – there’s no place like it. And with these small indulgences, your time spent at home will become all the more sweeter!

We believe that everyone is a homebody at heart! No matter how busy you are, there is nothing like the comfort of arriving home at the end of the day. With winter now upon us, we have found buys for the home that will make you more present, help you to relax and allow you to put your own unique stamp on your place. We’ve tried to select as many Brisbane and eco-friendly products as possible, so you can do good while treating yourself.

1. Mineral bath soak

When was the last time you had a nice long soak in the tub? Siren Song Bath Soak is a medley of mineral-rich ingredients that are sustainably sourced in Australia.

2. Handmade wooden spoon

Any culinary endeavour will become that much more special when using a wooden spoon you have made yourself! Brisbanite Carol Russell holds regular workshops in and around Brisbane where you’ll whittle your very own spoon to keep.

3. A Tree in the House

A Tree in the House is a beautiful new coffee table book with ideas for anyone who delights in fresh flowers. Get ideas for making your own flower arrangements, seasonal bouquets, gifts for friends and table centrepieces.

4. Linen Souvenir Tea Towel

Local photographer Kara Rosenlund takes stunning images all over Australia and prints them on linen tea towels. They’re limited edition (each one is numbered) and designed to be displayed as tactile art.

5. Tea subscription

Blended tea is such a soothing winter indulgence. T2 has launched a Tea Subscription that allows you to have six new types of tea sent to your door! (And the good news for our eco-loving friends is that T2 has committed to 100% certified sustainably sourced tea by the end of this year.)

6. Indulge stash

When you’re having a night of Netflix or a rainy afternoon of reading, it’s handy to have a stash of your favourite goodies on hand so you don’t need to leave the house to treat yourself. Our weakness is chocolate from New Farm Confectionery!

7. Throw rug

This one is the perfect accompaniment for all that Netflixing and reading! While you can find throw rugs in any homewares store, Seljak’s recycled wool blankets tick all the sustainability boxes. Two Brisbane sisters use closed-loop production methods to make these cosy blankets in Tasmania.

8. Pot plant

Indoor plants purify the air and are linked with reduced stress and a whole host of other benefits – plus, they look great. All The Green Things in West End sells plants and pots, and they also host Green Thumbs 101 workshops so you can become a successful plant parent.

9. Custom illustration

Gold Coast-based designer Emma Hilton has started Lines of Love, allowing you to have your favourite photographs turned into illustrations. This is a sentimental way to preserve and display your favourite memories.

10. Silk pillowcase

Sweet dreams are made of silk! Silk pillowcases are great for your skin, and Espial in Camp Hill has the silky soft Slipsilk range (and there is a selection of different hues for those who prefer colour-matched bed linens).

We know how precious your favourite possessions are, and that’s why placing keepsakes back *exactly* as you like them is just one of the small ways we empower our cleaners to care for your home. Break out that indulgent stash and see what makes us the good kind of different. – The Mother Ducks
