Why are people leaving their housework to Family Clean?

The Dash ‘-’. Stay with us… 😊

What happened to satisfaction from the process of housecleaning, pride in housework, the cathartic vibe?

Call it what you like – but in Sydney householders are saying a BIG FAT NO to housework and cleaning chores.Seriously why would you do it if you don’t have to?

You are born here > 👶 ………………………………  💫  < and life ends here.

Did you know, the average Sydneysider burns 12 years of their life doing domestic chores? 🔥

Don’t believe us? Ok, let’s do the numbers..

  • If we assume 2 hours x day on average on domestic chores, cleaning and housework.
  • Over 365 x days in a year = that’s 730 hours/year.
  • That’s 91.25 x working days/year.
  • These days the average lifespan of an Australian Citizen is 83 years old.
  • Let’s say we calculate housework done from 33 years of age…
  • That’s a massive 4,562.50 days in a lifetime doing domestic housework and cleaning!
  • THAT’S A WHOPPING -> 12 YEARS OF OUR LIFE DOING HOUSEWORK!! 😳

House cleaning is just the beginning…

So, back to ‘The Dash’… So if 12 x years doesn’t punch you in the face, this thought provoking poem by Linda Ellis might.

The Dash – Linda Ellis

I read of a man who stood to speak at a funeral of a friend.  He referred to the dates on the tombstone from the beginning…to the end.

He noted that first came the date of birth and spoke of the following date with tears but said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time they spent alive on earth and now only those who loved them know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own, the cars…the house…the cash.  What matters is how we lived and loved and how we spend our dash.

So, think about this long and hard; are there things you’d like to change?  For you never know how much time is left that still can be rearranged.

To be less quick to anger and show appreciation more and love the people in our lives like we’ve never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect and more often wear a smile…remembering that this special dash might only last a little while.

So, when your eulogy is being read, with your life’s actions to rehash, would you be proud of the things they say about how you lived your dash?

Time, what’s it worth?

What would you do with 3 extra hours per week living in Sydney?

🦒 Time to take the kids to Taronga Zoo on a Saturday instead of cleaning up after the chaos from the week?

☀️ Finally climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge after having it on your list for so many years

🌊 Do the Bondi to Coogee Coastal walk to take in the views and calm the mind
