Why Adelaide Cleaners Choose Family Clean

“I am so grateful I found Family Clean. The flexibility to choose my own hours has allowed me to create the best work-life balance I’ve ever had. The team is supportive and provides ongoing guidance, making me feel encouraged every step of the way. What really stands out is how much they value their people. They don’t just acknowledge team members, they celebrate successes and make you feel genuinely appreciated and rewarded. Thank you 🫶”

— Megan, Cheltenham

“Flexibility of work schedule, working directly with the families you clean for (you are communicating only with them unless you need support) Good pay, easy/quick responses whenever you need support or time off etc. it’s a great company to work for!”

— Hannah, O’Halloran Hill

I am loving cleaning homes and am attracted to the jobs which detail their expectations clearly and share a glimpse into their family life and how they run their home.”

— Britt, Athelstone

How We Work Together

You stay independent

Working as an independent contractor, you hold your own ABN and arrange your own schedule to suit your week. When you apply, you let us know how far you can reasonably travel across Adelaide, which days work for you, and the matches you’re able to take on. In practice, most crew members settle into the school day, Monday to Friday, keeping their evenings and weekends free.

How clients get matched to you

Matching starts with your application. The details you share — your background, skills, experience and the areas that suit you — are considered alongside what each Adelaide family is looking for, with location, availability and overall fit all part of the picture. If it looks right for both sides, we’ll get in touch with the details so you can decide from there. Many matches then settle into a steady rhythm: the same home, the same faces, and a regular slot that suits everyone.

What FC handles, what’s on you

We look after the matching, the admin and the ongoing support. That includes a Crew Care team you can reach when you need to, plus cover for your regular clients if you’re ever sick or away, so the homes you care for aren’t left without. Your part is straightforward: an active ABN, your own public liability insurance for as long as you’re with us, a police check — and, importantly, genuine care for every home you walk into.

Meet Some of the Family Clean Adelaide Crew

Megan – Home Assistant

📍Cheltenham

⏰ 9 months with FC

What drives Megan is simple: she genuinely loves making life easier for the people she looks after. With FC since late 2025, she cares for homes across Cheltenham and Adelaide’s north, drawing on solid experience in housekeeping and end-of-lease cleaning. Reliable and hardworking, she’s the type to go the extra mile — fussing over the little details others might miss — so her clients can come home to one less thing to worry about.

Hannah – Home Assistant

📍O’Hallaran Hill

⏰ 8 months with FC

Hannah cares for homes across O’Halloran Hill and Adelaide’s south with real heart and a sharp eye for detail. Having run her own cleaning business and work in childcare and support roles, she’s brought both skill and genuine warmth to her clients — she loves getting stuck into a home and making it feel brand new again. Reliable and hardworking, she takes real pride in leaving every space spotless and cared for.

Britt – Home Assistant

📍Athelstone

⏰ 1.5 years with FC

Bubbly and full of energy, Britt has been brightening up homes around Athelstone and Adelaide’s north-east since early 2025. A proud dog mum to two cavoodles, she’s the sort who genuinely gets a kick out of an organised pantry and a perfectly sorted Tupperware drawer — so creating calm, orderly spaces is right up her alley. Clients love her warmth and her knack for turning everyday chaos into something that just feels good to come home to — and we’ve got an abundance of amazing feedback to prove it.

Adelaide Cleaning Jobs FAQs

The questions you’re Googling at 11pm — answered straight.

Yes — an active ABN is required before you come onboard as you’re operating as an independent contractor. If you don’t have one yet, registration is free and takes around fifteen minutes through the Australian Business Register. We can help you with it during onboarding if that’s useful.

No. For hygiene and practicality, each Adelaide household provides the products and equipment used in their home. You’ll typically find a vacuum, mop, cloths, bucket, multi-purpose spray, glass cleaner, and floor cleaner ready and waiting. Before your first visit, every family receives our Handy Equipment List so they’re prepared for your arrival.

When you apply, you’ll share details about your experience, availability, and which parts of Adelaide you can comfortably travel to. We hold that alongside each family’s requirements and use it to propose matches based on location, skills, and schedule. Adelaide runs from Gawler in the north to Willunga in the south, and from the coast to the Hills — so geography shapes every match we make. The clearer your picture of where you can work, the more accurate the proposed matches will be.

When you apply, you’ll share which areas of Adelaide you’re able to travel to — and we factor that into every match we make. Adelaide stretches across a northern corridor, southern suburbs, inner metro, and eastern foothills, and we work across all of it. Most crews build a run centred around a preferred area of the city, but the best matches sometimes mean a little flexibility on travel. The clearer you are about what’s reasonable for you, the better we can work together to find a run that suits both sides.

You’re an independent contractor. Family Clean isn’t your employer. You retain your independence and control your own schedule — and you’re also responsible for your ABN, insurance, and tax obligations. We take care of the matching, admin and support so you can stay focused on the households you serve.

Before you onboard, you’ll need public liability insurance in your own name, and it needs to remain current for the entire time you work with us. It covers both you and the household in the unlikely event that something goes wrong on a job. We can share details of providers that other Adelaide crew members have used when you reach onboarding.

Once your onboarding is complete, you can start receiving match proposals straight away. New crew members in Adelaide typically build toward their preferred number of clients within the first few weeks — opportunities come through regularly as new households join.

Yes — many bookings run on weekdays during school hours, so it’s a natural fit if you need to be available for drop-off and pick-up. When you apply, you’ll share your available days and we’ll work to find matches where the timing works for both sides.

No fixed minimum. Some Adelaide crew members take on a handful of visits a week during school hours; others build a fuller schedule across multiple households. We simply ask that you show up consistently and communicate with us when anything in your availability changes.

As a contractor, your time is yours to manage. There’s no leave process to follow. When you know you’ll be away, give us as much notice as you can — the earlier the better — and we’ll arrange temporary coverage so your regular clients are taken care of while you’re gone.

Even careful matching doesn’t guarantee a perfect fit every time. If a new connection isn’t working after a visit or two — and a direct conversation with the client hasn’t resolved it — let us know and we’ll help to find a better fit for both sides.
