Christmas feels like it was only last week yet somehow it’s already nearly Easter. We are not complaining about having a few days off to catch up with family and friends, but where has this year gone!
There is so much going on if you are staying local these Easter holidays. Here are a few of our favourite picks..
New Farm Confectionary’s Easter range is now on sale and, if the quality and success of their Christmas range is anything to go by, you will certainly want to get your hands on some of their chocolatey treats as soon as possible! It wouldn’t be Easter without hot-cross buns. Chouquette also have theirs in store and we are not sure how long we can resist.
Kick start the fun early at the RSPCA markets on March 20th. It’s at their animal care campus in Wacol. Browsing markets on a sunny Sunday is always fun, and there will be music and entertainment for the kids.
The Powerhouse has re-started it’s free Livespark live music sessions on Sunday afternoons at 3.30pm. Ben Ely will be there on Easter Sunday.
Before it gets too cold, take the kids to the South Bank Lagoon for a picnic and play. It’s a good way of using up some of that Easter egg energy. New Farm Cinema shows classic Disney films every Sunday, and Easter Sunday is a Frozen Sing-a-long special.
Not exactly local but certainly worth the trip is the Australian Street Entertainment Championships being held on Cavill Ave in Surfers over the entire Easter long weekend. With everything from jugglers to BMX stunt-riders, it’s four days of fantastic free entertainment.
Brisbane Kids have created an awesome list of the best climbing trees in Brisbane. They also have a comprehensive map of parks in Brisbane which is really useful if you’re visiting family or friends in a different part of the city and need somewhere to take the kids to let off steam.
