Where would we be without our smartphones? Though I’m not quite as bad as the teenager who views their phone as an extension of themselves (I don’t think!), I certainly rely on it for a lot more than merely making phone calls. Here are some apps that make being organised easy.
This app is brilliant in our household! While I’m not naive enough to think kids over the age of 5 will ever “love” chores, this app does help to make my job much easier! You Rule acts likes a computer game and kids can choose an avatar and earn virtual coins they can then spend on rewards (which is the best incentive for my 6yo son!), all the chores and rewards are also customisable to suit your family. If you’re not sure what chores to choose, check out this list of age appropriate chores for kids.
Despite my best intentions there are times when I find myself buying random food at the supermarket with no clear idea of what I will cook with it. Anylist isn’t just for shopping, but one of its main features is the ability to upload your favourite recipes and add ingredients from recipes directly to a shopping list. I swear by meal planning to make my life easier and have shared tips to help you get started with meal planning here.
I schedule everything, and I mean everything! There is just no way I can remember all our appointments, school volunteer days, training times, and everything else that comes with running a small business and raising a young family, without this Calendar. Getting my husband into the habit and syncing our calendars means we never double book anything. It is so easy to use, lets me set tasks and reminders, and all our activities are colour coded.
LOVE this app! But be warned – it is soo addictive. It’s packed with awesome fashion, as well as inspiration for your home. It even has an “As Seen on Instagram” page where you can click through and buy the items you see on your favourite celebs on Instagram…. danger, danger!
I am not quite sure why this Australian app has an American name, but if you can overlook that it is a very useful thing to have on your phone. It offers a very simple way of keeping track of your money, letting you update your expenditure and showing all your bank accounts in one place. (Particularly good after spending too much time on Keep!)
If you have an app that you couldn’t live without, then let us know with a comment on our Facebook page, we’d love to hear from you!
