No matter how clean you are, it’s almost impossible to prevent dust in your home.
Try these easy tips to help reduce the dust in your home:
Vacuum often – once a week is needed to remove dust from your rugs and floors.
Wipe furniture & surfaces with a damp cloth. Feather dusters can be fun, but they just move the dust around rather than picking it up.
Take your shoes off at the door. This can eliminate almost all dirt & germs that would otherwise get walked through your home.
Clean your cupboards once a week. Often this gets overlooked, but cupboards are a dust haven. The fabric from clothes & towels sheds then spreads throughout your home.
Wash your bedding every 1-2 weeks. To kill dust mites, wash your bedding in hot water regularly – we’ve found adding Eucalyptus Oil to be great!
Steam Clean your Rugs & Carpet. Keeping your carpet clean will not only keep them lasting longer, but stop your home becoming a dust mite metropolis! (Did you know there are nearly 90,000 dust mites to 1m2 of carpet)!?
In general, we recommend having your carpet professionally steam cleaned every 12-18 months (more frequently with pets inside).
